A calm co-pilot for your local machine.

Lokstack exists because finding out what is running on a developer Mac should not take a handful of terminal commands.

Why we built it

Local development became a pile of invisible moving parts: a server in a Terminal tab nobody remembers, a Postgres in Docker and another in Herd, a port that is “already in use” by something unknown.

Existing tools each show one slice. Activity Monitor sees processes, Docker Desktop sees containers. Lokstack understands projects. It joins everything your Mac knows into one picture, explains why a project will not start, and puts the fix beside the reason.

Who it is for

Solo developers, freelancers and agency teams who run several projects on one Mac, including Node, PHP, Docker and databases. And people who build with AI coding tools and want to understand what those tools start on their machine.

Why it exists

Errors such as EADDRINUSE: port 3000 cost developers time every week. Finding the cause means searching for the process that holds a port, working out which database is answering, and checking whether an AI tool left a server running. Lokstack puts that answer in one view, with the fix beside it.

It is free for everyday work, runs only on your Mac and requires no account.

What we stand for.

Clarity

Plain language. We show the answer (version, port, status), not raw data.

Control

Every insight comes with an action: stop, start, install, free a port.

Privacy

Runs on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no tracking inside the app.

Respect

Never destructive without asking. Your data and Docker volumes are kept by default.

Fair

Everyday use is free forever. Pro is one yearly price and never nags.
