Services

The things your app talks to: a database, a cache (Redis), a test mailbox, file storage, search.
- Lokstack reads the project's
.envfiles to find them and checks each is running. - Add service installs PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Mailpit and more on your Mac, with no Docker. Click Install next to the one you want. If Homebrew (the Mac program installer) is missing, Lokstack offers to install it and notices when it is done, so you do not need to restart. Lokstack then shows the lines to copy into your
.env. - Open looks inside a service: database tables, the test inbox, stored files, cache keys. Lokstack only looks. Anything that looks like a password or token stays hidden.
- Each service shows where it runs ("Runs in": Lokstack, Docker, Herd, Homebrew) and which projects use it.
